Meet Our Instructors

GENE OLIVETTI, CFPR, CLU, ChFC, RHU, FLMI
Gene Olivetti, CFPR, CLU, ChFC, RHU, FLMI, teaches pre-licensing and continuing education courses for Insurance Career Training, Inc. Much of Gene's 50+ year career in the financial services industry has focused on training and development with companies such as MetLife, Union Central Life and Hartford Life. Gene and his wife, Ellen, have three children and nine grandchildren. In his spare time, Gene enjoys travel, movies, serving at his church and hanging out with his grandkids.

RON BAKER

Ron Baker has been in the insurance industry since first being licensed in 1980. With over 40 years in the business, Ron has specialized in many aspects of insurance. As an agent, Ron has won many individual sales awards and honors. As a manager, he also trained many agents just getting started in the industry as rookie agents. In 1987, Ron helped found one of the original certified insurance schools for the state of Indiana, becoming a certified instructor with the very first “freshman” class of instructors the state certified to teach Pre-Licensing. A few years, later the state also started requiring Continuing Education as a requirement for renewal of an agent’s license – Ron was certified as a Continuing Education instructor at that time as well.Ron has personally seen the ongoing evolution of insurance education for the industry since day one. He has now spent over 20 plus years as the Director of Education for his former school, wrote over 15 certified courses for the state, has taught Life/Health and Property/Casualty courses for Pr-Licensing and also Series 6 and 63 courses for the national exam for the Securities industry. Ron still enjoys selling as an independent agent, as well as, continuing to teach all the various aspects of insurance found in the ICT curriculum. He hasn’t tired of it yet.

STEVE WESTERVELT, CLU
Steve Westervelt, CLU, teaches continuing education and pre-license courses for Insurance Career Training, Inc. Steve spent 25 years in sales management with Allstate Insurance. Steve brings over 50 years of experience as a teacher and manager of insurance agents to his role with ICT.

ERIC MARTLAGE
Eric Martlage is Director of Operations for Insurance Career Training, Inc. Eric is an Indiana native and graduate of Ball State University with a bachelors degree in Telecommunications and Sales. Eric serves as an administrative leader for ICT and also serves as an instructor for our live classroom and webinar classes. Prior to joining ICT, Eric was an insurance agent for both Liberty Mutual and Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance. Eric and his wife, Mindy, and their two daughters are active in youth sports and their church, and reside in Greenwood, Indiana.

CARLA L.C. BAXTER, CPCU, CIC, LUTCF, ARM, AIM, IIA, CPIW

An Indianapolis native, Carla L.C. Baxter received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana in Marketing Management and has completed classes at IN Wesleyan towards an MS degree in Management. An insurance professional since 1980 with seven professional insurance designations, Carla’s background includes commercial underwriting, marketing, sales management, and being a multi-line licensed agent. She has previously taught classes for PIA of IN and IN Chapter of CPCU; she’s been instructing classes at Insurance Career Training for over eight years.  In addition, Carla is a faculty member for the the National Alliance. She serves as a commissioner on the IN Dept. of Insurance Continuing Ed. Advisory Council.  Currently, Carla is the Principal Consultant for Baxter & Associates Consulting Services, LLC and is the director of a community non-profit microlearning center.  Carla enjoys exercising and doing ZUMBA. Described as a “social entrepreneur”, Carla encourages young ladies and women of all ages to be the best “she can be…” She is married to Andrew Baxter and has one daughter, Andranise L.C. Baxter, Esq. 

RICK WESTON, CLU, ChFC, CPCU, LUTCF, FSS
Rick Weston, CLU, ChFC, CPCU, LUTCF, FSS is the Director of CE Events for Insurance Career Training, Inc. Rick teaches continuing education and pre- licensing courses for Insurance Career Training, Inc. Before joining ICT, Rick spent 17 years with Farmers Insurance in a variety of position including district manager, district training and administrative assistant, division agency manager, commercial sales representative, agency computer training representative, and commercial policy processing supervisor. He also spent six years with Shelter Insurance as a district sales manager. Rick’s honors and awards include Indiana District Manager of the Year, President’s Council district manager, Championship, and multiple Toppers Club awards with Farmers Insurance; winning multiple life sales contests and Conference of Champions with Shelter Insurance; and serving his local NAIFA as President for multiple terms and serving on the Indiana NAIFA speakers bureau. Rick and his wife, Susan, have four children and two grandchildren. In his spare time, Rick enjoys fishing, writing, and family.

TODD ESCHMANN, CLU, ChFC, CPCU, LUTCF
Todd Eschmann, CLU, ChFC, CPCU, LUTCF, is President and founder of Insurance Career Training, Inc. Todd teaches pre-licensing and continuing education courses for Insurance Career Training, Inc. Todd spent 18 years with Shelter Insurance as an agent, district sales manager, state sales manager and regional sales manager. He also spent five years with Farmers Insurance Group as a district manager. Todd’s honors and awards include the 2000 Ernest Cragg Ambassador Award from the LUTC program. He was a two-time President’s Council district manager for Farmers Insurance, and was the 1997 District Sales Manager of the Year for Shelter Insurance. Todd and his wife, Kathy, have three children. In his spare time, Todd enjoys, sports, golf, cooking, music and traveling.

KYLE ESCHMANN - Kyle Eschmann has been employed with ICT as Director of Marketing since 2011. A native of Carmel, Indiana, Kyle graduated from the University of Missouri in 2011 with a degree in Business Administration. Kyle is a licensed producer and has taught a number of courses for ICT. Kyle and his wife, Sarah, reside in Noblesville, IN.

RICK BERGSTROM - Richard L. "Rick" Bergstrom, LUTCF, is a long-time instructor for ICT, teaching both live CE events and webinar CE classes. Rick resides in Columbus, Indiana, and has over 40 years of insurance experience in sales, management and training. Rick has served as a financial advisor for Principal Financial Group in Columbus since 2013. Rick holds Bachelor's and Masters degrees from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

CHARLES HADLEY, licensed in P&C and L&H since 1983, has held varied positions during his 45 years in the insurance industry.  He has been an exclusive honor ring agent for a national personal lines company, a loss control representative, an account executive for a nationally recognized specialty carrier, a production underwriter, a product manager, an operations manager responsible for a regional data processing center and a marketing manager.  He has a degree in Economics and holds the designations CIC, CRM, CPCU, AIC, ARM, ARe, ALCM and AU.

“My approach to insurance and risk management has always been to listen to the client - be it a single individual looking for auto insurance or the 4^th largest truck line in the US - and find a way to handle their concerns, trying to make it a “Win-Win” for all parties involved.”  

This same approach also served Charles well as a licensed 28- year high school & college basketball and football official.  (FYI – Charles says insurance was easier!)
